I’ve said this many times before. Our www.kirbycorpjobs.com website is like a Myspace or Facebook for our employees. It isn’t as advanced and you can’t put your band’s favorite songs on it but you can put up a picture and some information as you would a Myspace Profile.
The first thing you do is log in. Once logged in, you will see the Tendenci home page:
To edit your profile, select your name underneath the tabs (shown by the blue arrow). It will bring you to your personal home page. From this personal home page, you can change your picture, add career information, add educational information, etc. Be careful. This is online and it is always best to put only information you want the world to see. This is just good practice while online on any site.
Why should you change these things? To create community! Some of you I talk to on a regular basis but I don’t know much about you, much less what you look like! By putting this information into a profile, you can get to know one another. The most important one is picture. If you put a personal picture up, it will be beside any comment you make instead of a generic avatar. It is your online identity per se. An avatar. And people can put a face with the name (and for visual people like me, that’s a very good thing!)
